Study by Federal Skilled Employment shows that exceedingly skillful immigrants earn more than Canadian citizens soon after arrival

Immensely skillful economic immigrants earn more than the Canadian citizens as soon as they arrive, says the reports released by the Government of Canada. Attained by The Canadian Press (CP) through an Access to Information request, the report says that the monetary and social results of new immigrants in Canada through its various immigration programs have increased. Immigrants are faring better parsimoniously in Canada but highly skilled workers tend to hit the ground running, earning annual incomes on par or higher in comparison to the citizens as soon as they arrive the employment ground. The findings support the Government of Canada’s study that skilled economic immigrants with high human capital, ie. education, language skills and work experience, tend to have “higher earning potential.”

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) attuned how economic immigration candidates in the federal Express Entry pool were given points under its Comprehensive Ranking System, with the prominence is shifting away from a job offer in favour of the human capital scores.Ensuing the “targeted improvements”, the amount of Federal Skilled Worker applicants invited to apply for permanent residence through the Express Entry system jumped from 25 per cent to 48 per cent during the first six months of 2017.
IRCC said the alteration were executed to ensure “a fairer and responsive immigration system that addresses emerging needs and long-term economic growth for Canada.”
